The gymnast

Touch Warm-Up

Time
50 seconds for each gymnast. On vault, at most two vaults instead.
Where
On the podium, immediately before he competes, on every apparatus.
Phases
Every phase: Qualifications, Team Final, All-Around and Apparatus Finals.
Qualifications, Team Final
The warm-up time belongs to the team. The team must leave enough time for its last gymnast.
Mixed groups
The warm-up time belongs to each gymnast, in competition order.
  • An audible signal ends the warm-up.
  • A gymnast who is ready to vault, or who is still on the apparatus, may finish the element or sequence he has begun.
  • After the warm-up, and during a “competition pause”, the apparatus may be prepared but not used.
  • Warm-up time not respected, or more than two warm-up vaultsby D1, from the Final Score−0.3
  • A team's warm-up time not respected — from the team totalby the Superior Jury President−1.0each

The line judge on vault counts the warm-up vaults; D1 controls the warm-up time.

On vault the gymnast keeps his two warm-up vaults even when the warm-up time has run out.

Any FOP-accredited person from the gymnast's federation may help prepare the apparatus.

At most three people on the podium: the gymnast, his coach, and one other accredited person.
